
From Fear To Fun
If we are water, then we have trembled in hurricane gusts. We have rumbled down raging rapids and trickled from pristine springs. We’ve dripped down cheeks in the form of grief. Up the spine of a mighty tree, we have nourished the Earth. If we are water, then we know the sorrow and bliss of our mother, for we were tethered to her, as we are tethered to Earth in these bodies. Always returning to the Ocean. And back to the Sky, who holds us until the swelling unleashes a drizzle or a drenching. We’ve ran down the precipice of holy lands. But we also carry the memory of toxins leeching our vitality, oil thickening our gulfs, and plastic feigning itself as food, chocking and killing the Spirits and guardians of the Ocean. We remember it all.
Mentorship Details

Every session is broken into two parts.

50% is in the OCEAN, wherein we practice:​

Learning to discern when it's safe for you to get in the Ocean.

Regulating the nervous system when in the water

Staying connected with the breath

Tricks to exert less energy in order to focus on self-regulation

Identifying your "edge", where you feel safe

Safe ways to duck-dive waves

Practical tips for greater comfort and safety in the Ocean (i.e., tight braid if you have long hair)

Developing a relationship with the Ocean's Spirit and learning to listen to her signs

Getting curious about of trauma-responses while we are in the Ocean

Example: a tendency to panic and it seems you're fighting to get safely to shore

Learning supportive techniques to stay relaxed in the ever-moving Ocean

Swimming safely beyond the break

Discerning when to exert will and when to surrender to the Ocean's rhythms

Playing in the Ocean!
